Angelique, Long Depth of Field

Long depth of field

Martin Parr | The Last Resort New Brighton, England. 1983-85. © Martin Parr | Magnum Photos

This image is a good example of long depth of field because everything in the foreground and background is in focus. We can clearly see the details of the back of the two women’s heads and just as easily see the young girls and buildings in the background. There is nothing in this image intentionally blurred or left out of focus, therefore highlighting the immense amount of detail that this image contains.

    1. It seems like it’s a pageant of some sort! We see a few little girls holding numbers and possibly checking in with the older ladies at the table, (our view is the back of their heads). The little girls are all wearing colorful tutus and their hair is curled with bows. It looks like the location is a swimming pool. Also, the background has a few older people in it in bathing suits.
