Book Proposal

One thing about the camera that I really value is the essence that it prolongs something that will possibly not be seen again. And I think with every passing day, I will not be able to relive the exact same day in the following days of my life because even the little things will be different, the things that are not in our control. I was thinking about this when I walked home in the rain from work one night and there was a thunderstorm with lightning flashing in the sky as I headed towards their direction. If there is any aspect to preserve my life in a dreamy way through the camera, I would really like to focus on the weather. As it changes throughout the semester I would like to photograph subjects that can either portray or mimic weather or actually be a part of the weather. Feelings are fickle, and so is the weather. It is very human. And somewhat liberating… in a sense. Henri Cartier-Bresson’s work is the closest I can probably reference to because of the unique narrative form it holds. I would like to also capture sound and silence in the way that he does in his photos.
