Montage Journal

November 13th: I took pictures of multiple different Christmas related objects in order to portray a Christmas morning through my montage. With all of the pictures, I was unable to find the perfect background to go with the theme until I thought about using Hotel Bethlehem as the background since most of the Christmas themed objects pictures taken around the hotel and the rooms indoor are very homey, a theme that I was going for.

November 27th: I made more progress with adding the objects into the background photo, placing the objects in locations that are normal, giving the illusion of a person actually enjoying a Christmas morning instead of different objects coming together to make to so. It was hard to find the different placements because I felt as though the angle that I took the background picture made me feel as though the objects would be very clustered, but when I played with the scales, I was able to find smaller sizes to allow for them to look more natural.

December 4th: Completed the montage. I added other pictures to make it look more homey, such as the fireplace, though I was not too sure how to place the fireplace without it looking too abnormal. I also added different objects in the window to show a more festive, winter scenery. Making the light and trees go blind the window pane was very tedious, but it was something that I felt would add a nice finishing touch, so although it was a little frustrating to complete, it tied the whole montage together.
